  • How to trigger a lazyload (on-demand load) with JQuery
    Lazyload or on-demand loading is a nice way to save some bandwidth and  server load by requesting content at the end of the page only when the user scroll down to that area. If you scroll down Amazon product pages, you will notice lot of content starts to load on Ajax calls only when those areas come in to view. This post is not about how to make an Ajax call, but about when to make the call. At the bottom of my page, I have a DIV call “more”. (more..)

  • Conversion failed when converting datetime from character string.
    “If we mean to have heroes, statesmen and philosophers, we should have learned women.” Abigail Adams said. She was born in December 22nd, 3 days before Christmas in 1744. I was trying to insert her date of birth in to MSSQL DataTime field, something like insert in to firstlady(dateofbirth) values({d '1744-12-22'})and it gave the error “[Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Conversion failed when converting datetime from character string.”.   • Use ColdFusion to Revert HTMLEditFormat()
    This is a brilliantly simple solution I have seen somewhere on the web sometimes back and I needed it yesterday, but my rather fussy brain forgot where it was. And web is too big and the page was too small, Google could not find it. Gladly I remember bit of it, so I recreated it.HTMLEditFormat()  can covert special characters and symbols such as & or © in to html special character codes like & or ©. (more..)
